Studies show that having as few as 20 books at home can have a great impact on a child educational success. Having a larger amount of books can have an even greater impact.
“Two-thirds of America’s children living in poverty have no books at home, and the number of families living in poverty is on the rise.” -RIF Website. Our school, Johnston Elementary School, in Asheville, NC, is a high-poverty school but we want to get our students reading ASAP. We would like to start our Kindergarten students out the right way.
We want to build our students Home Libraries. We found that for just $500.00 we can give EVERY student in our classroom at least 20 books of their own.
Thank you for helping us to put books in our kiddo’s hands. Thank you for your support.
