Help us rescue unwanted/stray animals

Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary , Registered Charity Number 1157232, is a small foster home based animal sanctuary in the Merseyside area, set up in July 2013.

We primarily focus on rescuing unwanted/stray cats and small animals, however we will aim to help any animal in need.

Our philosophy is to accept an animal into our care based solely on its need and not on any other physical characteristic, providing we have a suitable foster home free.

We believe that by looking after a rescue pet in a home environment we are able to fully assess the animal, understand its needs and the type of home he/she will require and ultimately match them to a suitable home.

We have a strict non-destruct policy and will keep every animal in our care until a forever home can be found.

We desperately need extra space so that we can help more needy cats and bunnies and also a kennel facility, so that we can rescue dogs who are in dire need.
To run a safe and efficient rescue, we need a purpose built site where animals can get the veterinary treatment they need, be fully assessed before being placed into a foster home/forever home and extra space for emergencies. Unfortunately, we cannot offer this with our current set up.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise the remaining funds to buy this property which is perfect for our needs, before someone else buys it and we miss our chance!
Please donate NOW and help us to make our dream a reality for the sake of the animals who need us!

Starting a daycare

My name is Makaylynn and I have one precious little girl, age 14 mos. I live in Des Moines, near the Easter Lake area. I am starting my daycare because I have a genuine love of children & enjoy seeing them reach their full potential. As a parent I understand that it can take a lot of time & effort to find a perfect match to care for your child. A safe & comfortable environment, a nurturing & experienced provider, fun learning, healthy meals, centralized location and flexible hours are just a few of the qualities within my home. You can rest assured that your childcare needs will be met. I am working on obtaining my license and CPR/First Aid Certification, however I do not plan on taking the maximum amount of children I am allowed. I feel it is very important for kids to feel like they are a true part of our family and are receiving the personal attention they deserve. For this reason, I will only be accepting 5 to 6 kids at a time between me and my co-worker. My co-worker is 24 years old, name is Courtney. A Certified Nurse Assistant, and is also licensed as a mandatory reporter. As well as CPR certified and first aide trained.

Dog Rescue

We are a street dog rescue focusing on extreme hard luck cases, healing & rehabilitation, and finding homes with loving families across the country. Our rescues would surely die without our intervention.

Sensing Gesture Controller Gaming

I am attempting to build an entirely new and unique way to interact with computers and gaming. My current goal is to build and program a three dimensional control interface designed for computers and gaming. It senses the location of a hand over its face and outputs a signal proportional to position for each axis: x (left and right), y (up and down), and z (in and out). So, you can control three things at one time, like turning three knobs all at once by moving your hand through the air. The possibilities are truly infinite.

Simply press the large illuminated switch to start recording and release it to stop. The playback can be one-shot or looping. Playback can be retriggered with swipe gestures or by external signals from a module with trigger outputs. When pressed quickly, it freezes the hand position to lock in the output. Playback can be sped up or slowed by using circular gestures, clockwise for faster, counter-clockwise for slower. Recording can also be triggered externally. One pulse starts the recording and the next pulse ends it. Using external triggers to start and stop recording as well as to synchronize the playback, you can make perfectly synchronized loops.

To provide feedback, it has LEDs ringing its active sensing area. These LEDs light up according to the location of your hand. It lights red for the z axis and blue for the x and y axis. As you get closer to the surface, the red LEDs get brighter. As you move closer to a location on the x-y axis, the blue LEDs in that region get brighter and those farther away get dimmer. This makes it visually stunning, brilliant for live play and, excellent for dark spaces.

It can also recognize a number of simple gestures. It recognizes swiping gestures as well as circular motions over its surface. These gestures can be used as trigger outputs and for interacting with the built-in looping feature. It provides a menu system that uses gestures to change the system behavior.

It will be entirely open source. All aspects of the design, including hardware design files and software source code, will be released under cc-nc-sa 2.0 license. There will be a USB connector on the back of the device. This will allow anyone to program and reprogram it to suit their purposes. Want to use it to fly drones? Make a true virtual reality gaming experice? Go for it!

Design Story

We are all familiar with the vision of the future where we interact with computers by moving naturally in free space. Well, it has arrived. I knew that I wanted to explore the possibility of employing it to bring futuristic interaction to the gaming world. I began by envisioning a standalone device with a deep feature set, but decided to limit the scope of this design to the core functionality. This allowed me to focus on developing a device using this central technology.

How does it work?

It will work by generating an electrical field and sensing changes in it causes by the proximity of your hand. Think of it as a smartphone screen with an added dimension of depth four to five inches from the surface. The system uses six electrodes to form the active sensing area. The sensing electrodes are part of the circuit board which lays just behind the piece of acrylic.

Where Do the Pledges Go?

The pledges will support final development costs and prototyping, the purchase of components for the units, and the cost of manufacturing.

Help bring home to our human raise.

We are a bunch of freshmen from Sino-Us College, China, trying to raise money for Syrian refugees. There are more than 5 million refugees outside Syria and 6 million Syrians in Syria(in war) who need our help. We believe everyone will give their hands.

Join us in raising funds. We are one human being, we love, we share, we thank.

Digital Innovation

Digital rights management (DRM) schemes are various access control technologies that are used to restrict usage of proprietary hardware and copyrighted works. DRM technologies try to control the use, modification, and distribution of copyrighted works (such as software and multimedia content), as well as systems within devices that enforce these policies.

The use of digital rights management is not universally accepted. Proponents of DRM argue that it is necessary to prevent intellectual property from being copied freely, just as physical locks are needed to prevent personal property from being stolen, that it can help the copyright holder maintain artistic control, and that it can ensure continued revenue streams. Those opposed to DRM contend there is no evidence that DRM helps prevent copyright infringement, arguing instead that it serves only to inconvenience legitimate customers, and that DRM helps big business stifle innovation and competition. Furthermore, works can become permanently inaccessible if the DRM scheme changes or if the service is discontinued. DRM can also restrict users from exercising their legal rights under the copyright law, such as backing up copies of CDs or DVDs, lending materials out through a library, accessing works in the public domain, or using copyrighted materials for research and education under the fair use doctrine,[3] and under French law. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the Free Software Foundation (FSF) consider the use of DRM systems to be an anti-competitive practice.

Worldwide, many laws have been created which criminalize the circumvention of DRM, communication about such circumvention, and the creation and distribution of tools used for such circumvention. Such laws are part of the United States\’ Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the European Union\’s Copyright Directive, (the French DADVSI is an example of a member state of the European Union (\”EU\”) implementing the directive).

The term DRM is also sometimes referred to as \”copy protection\”, \”technical protection measures\”, \”copy prevention\”, or \”copy control\”, although the correctness of doing so is disputed

Help get our three puppies back from Qatar

I am the Canadian owner of three beautiful Shi Tzu/Bichon doggies who are currently in a boarding kennel in Qatar, Doha. I and my wife and son were living in Doha until her communications job ended and we had to move back to Canada.

We found a very nice boarding kennel in Qatar and fully expected to send our dogs out in a month, once we were settled. It has now been eight months and the kennel bill has risen to $8000. It will cost $5000 to ship them to Edmonton. We don’t have the funds at this point and are we are desperate to get our boys home.

Scruffy is a now-healthy little rescue dog from Bahrain; his tongue hangs out because he was abused and his teeth were kicked out. Doodles and Butterball are our sweet Canadian doggies, aged 7 and 6.

We are looking for a private lender so we can pay the outstanding kennel charges and allow Doodles, Butterball and Scruffy to come home. All loan money could be paid DIRECTLY to the kennel and the pet relocator – not to us… It is my son’s 16th birthday on Oct. 1st and it would be the best birthday present ever, to get our dogs home. We will pay the loan from my guaranteed Government of Ontario pension, for a term of two to three years. We have good references and secure income: just not enough to pay $13,000 all at once! We are sick at the thought of our “boys” being alone in Qatar (even though the boarding kennel is very nice and they are safe and well cared-for) and so sorry we had to let it go this long…
Can anyone help with a loan? This is legitimate. Thanks.

Help the less fortunate go to college

I am Breanna Davenport. Me and my family are raising money for me to attend college starting in the Fall of 2016 at USC Upstate. We aren’t a very fortunate family and my family is trying to send me and my twin sister to college. One twin which is myself is attending USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. My twin is attending Lander University in Greenwood, SC. That’s a very big struggle for them. My campaign is now taking place until I finish my freshman year at college. I am raising funds so I can make my family proud with finishing college. I’m also raising funds so I can further myself with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise science.

People can get involved by donating any amount that you are able and wiling to help meet my goal. It will be no set price with what the people want to give its just the thought that counts.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Operation Rosy Fund

Hello to all,

First I would like to begin by thanking everyone for listening and for donating to causes such as great as ours and families in need. Our beloved shi-tzu, Rosy, is in need of an operation to rid her body of a growth that has continued to grow on her back leg which at the moment is not causing her any pain our discomfort that I can ascertain. My family and I have visited numerous veterinarians in our area of San Diego, and as always no success. As the cost of surgery for our family member is more than we can afford at this time. Not only do they charge $150 fee just to examine our 8 year old dog which we have paid multiple times for second opinion, but some how expect us to come up with $1,600 for surgery and biopsy. Enough about our struggle. We have had the fortune of adopting her 8 years ago this past may as a 3 month old puppy and our lives have never been the same sense. I can not begin to describe how much joy and love she has brought to our family, which include my fourteen year old daughter, wife and myself. At the moment my wife is the only employed member of our family as I am a full time student pursuing my dream of earning a college degree. With these funds we will pay for her operation and any medication she may need. Any and all funds remaining will be donated to the ASPCA. I hope that everyone reading this would consider helping our family as this would be the greatest gift we could hope to receive this holiday season.
